The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan expressed a protest to the Russian government due to the "emphasized negative attitude" and "widespread violation" of the rights and freedoms of its citizens living in the Russian Federation. This information is confirmed by a note that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan handed over to the Russian ambassador.
"Such actions are applied exclusively to citizens of Tajikistan, which is fundamentally incompatible with the spirit and traditions of Tajik-Russian relations," it reads.
The negative attitude towards the citizens of Tajikistan in Russia intensified after the terrorist attack in Crocus, on suspicion of which the citizens of this country were detained.
In particular, they began to be thoroughly checked at airports and at the border. Because of that there were huge queues.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan has already called on the country's citizens to refrain from traveling to Russia unless absolutely necessary.
