The President of Ukraine signed the new law

Today, October 26, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed Law No. 9269d, which concerns the financial monitoring of politically significant persons (PEP) and is an important step in Ukraine's quest for membership in the European Union. This information is published on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the data on the website of the parliament, the draft law was returned with the signature of the President of Ukraine on October 26, and this is the last stage before the law enters into force. This law is particularly important for the discussion of Ukraine's accession to the EU. The law amends financial monitoring and now instead of three years after taking up senior positions (PEP), they will actually have PEP status for life. At the same time, the draft law strengthens the responsibility of the SPF (subjects of primary financial monitoring, such as banks) for unjustified denial of financial services to users
