Toyota Motor continues to show striking results by increasing production and sales in September 2023. This success was the result of increasing demand in Japan, the US and Europe, despite some challenges on the world car market.
In September, Toyota increased production by 1.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching more than 900,000 units. This production growth was particularly pronounced within Japan, where production increased by the striking 12.8%. This growth compensated for a slight decrease in production abroad, which decreased by 3.6%.
Toyota global sales continue to grow, increasing by 11.6% to 921 308 cars. This impressive success has allowed the company to set a new record for sales and production per month.
It is important to note that Toyota continues to retain leadership in the world car market. During the first nine months of this year, she sold more than 7.5 million cars, including cars under the Lexus brand.
Market segments also indicate a lot of growth. Japan's domestic market has increased sales by 20.5% in September, while in the United States and Europe sales increased by 14% and 18.1%, respectively.
However, despite this success, there are also challenges for Toyota. Production and sales in some Asian countries, such as Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam, have decreased due to the deterioration of economic conditions. In China, the largest car market in the world, production has decreased by almost 7%, despite some increase in sales.
