US President Donald Trump has announced a "grand parade" in Washington on June 14, on his 79th birthday. He reported this on his platform Truth Social.
According to the President, the solemn event will be dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the United States Army. Trump stressed that the parade would be a tribute to all the US military who have defended the country's freedom for two and a half centuries.
"For 250 years, our brave soldiers fought, shed blood and sacrificed life for our freedom. We will honor them with a wonderful parade - worthy of their service and sacrifice," Trump said in his address.
The celebration is expected to cover a wide range of military demonstrations, including the participation of army units, historical equipment and speeches of military orchestras. Details on the parade route and the participation of other officials have not been made public.
