The telephone talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin have reached important arrangements for the beginning of the peace process. According to the White House, one of the first steps to stabilize the situation should be the energy and infrastructure ceasefire. This event will be the basis for further negotiations and to reduce voltage in the region.
According to agreement, ceasefire at energy and infrastructure facilities will help to solve some of the most pressing humanitarian problems, in particular in Ukraine, where important energy systems and infrastructure are destroyed. At the same time, the leaders of both states discussed the possibility of establishing a marine truce in the Black Sea, which is strategically important for the security of the region.
During the negotiations, the leaders of both countries also reached an agreement on the creation of expert groups, which should deal with the issues of "Ukrainian settlement". This can be an important step towards a peaceful process, as both parties have agreed that further negotiations should be based on expert opinions and specific steps to reduce the escalation of conflict.
An important point in the conversation was to discuss the conditions to prevent further escalation of the war. Putin stressed that it is necessary to stop foreign military assistance to Ukraine, as well as to stop providing intelligence information, which may affect the course of hostilities. This issue has become one of the key conditions to maintain further peace, as Russia considers Ukraine's external support to Ukraine as a threat to stability in the region.
Another important point discussed during the negotiations was the issue of the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine. According to the Kremlin, this exchange will take place on March 19 and cover 175 people from each party. Such a step should be an important humanitarian gesture that will reduce tension and improve mutual understanding between the parties. In addition, Russia has undertaken to transfer to Ukraine 23 seriously wounded servicemen of the Armed Forces.
During the conversation, Putin also expressed his readiness to promote the peace process, noting that Russia supports the normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington. This step indicates the potential to weaken the tension between the two great world states that have long been in confrontation.
