US President Donald Trump criticized Vladimir Zelensky, calling him a "dictator" because of refusing to hold elections in Ukraine. In his post on the social network Truth Social on February 19, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian leader, in his opinion, has low ratings, refuses to carry out democratic processes, and at the same time cannot complete the war in which the US is allegedly involved in no avail.
Trump also noted that in the war, the Ukrainian president persuaded the United States to spend huge funds to support Ukraine, but acknowledged that much of these funds allegedly disappeared. Trump stressed that US expenses for assistance to Ukraine are much higher than European, and the United States receive nothing in return. According to him, the war for America is not as important as for Europe, and noted that Russia and the US share the ocean.
In the end, Trump added that, despite the criticism of Zelensky, he still loves Ukraine, but believes that the Ukrainian president has not been able to play his role in managing the country, causing the country to have been destroyed, and millions of people were killed for no serious reason.
