US President Donald Trump has announced the need to change the approach to Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the context of war in Ukraine. The American president wrote this on Truth Social on Saturday, April 26.
Trump suggested that Putin can deliberately delay and manipulate the war. He drew attention to the latest shelling of civilian objects in Ukraine that do not have any strategic meaning from a military point of view. "Putin had no reason to fire civilian areas, cities and settlements for the last few days. It makes me think that he may not want to stop the war, he just plays me, and it should be fighting differently with him," Trump wrote.
The American leader noted that the possible response to Putin's actions should be the use of "banking" or "secondary sanctions". He emphasized the inadmissibility of further victims among the civilians: "Too many people die!"
In his post, Donald Trump again stressed that he did not consider the war in Ukraine his responsibility. He accused the previous Presidents of the United States, Barack Obama and Joe Baiden, to create prerequisites for conflict:
"This is the War of Sonny Joe Biden, not mine. She was losing from the first day, it should not be, and it would not be president at the time. I just try to rake the mess that Obama and Biden left me, and what a mess it was," Trump said.
