US President Donald Trump has commented on the US and Ukraine agreement on the development of natural resources, stating that the main factor under this decision is to ensure the security of US investments and to control the development of Ukrainian subsoil. Trump stressed that the presence of US companies on the spot would not allow "bad players" to get into this process.
Trump noted that the agreement concluded by the United States with Ukraine provides the necessary security for US investment. The US President emphasized the importance that "we can start drilling and do what we need to do", hinting at the opportunity to actively use Ukraine's natural resources for US economic benefits.
One of the key aspects of the agreement, according to Trump, is the guarantee that there will be no undesirable or dishonest participants in the development areas of Ukrainian subsoil. The American presence on the ground allows to guarantee the cleanliness of the process and to exclude the possibility for "bad players" to influence this process.
"The Americans will be in place, and this guarantees the fact that there will be no bad players," Trump said.
Although the agreement was concluded, Trump noted that the results from this agreement have not yet been manifested. He stressed that this is just the beginning and still need to see how it will be implemented.
“I have instructed Scott Bessent, and he explained everything perfectly, but we have not seen the fruits of this agreement yet. I think we will see, ”the US president added, hinting at the future stages of cooperation between Ukraine and the US in the field of natural resources.
