US President Donald Trump has again attracted the attention of the world community with his statements. In a recent interview with Politico, he did not exclude the possibility of using military force to control strategic territories - Greenland and Panama Canal.
Asked whether he considers economic or military coercion to achieve this goal, Trump stated: "I am not going to undertake. No. It may have to do something." According to him, such steps are dictated by the US need to strengthen economic security.
In particular, the President emphasized the strategic importance of Greenland, stating that this territory is needed by the United States "for national security purposes." Trump also expressed doubt about Denmark's legitimate right to own the island. "People do not even know whether Denmark has a legitimate right to it, but if it has, they have to give it up because we need it for national security," he added.
