The newly elected US President Donald Trump has announced planned meetings with Ukraine, Russia and other countries to discuss the war in Ukraine. According to him, his administration is already actively working on the organization of such negotiations, and the first meetings are already in the planning process.
In particular, Trump told reporters that negotiations are already underway and meetings with different sides, including Ukraine and Russia, should take place in the near future. At the same time, the US President has not yet disclosed the details about the exact dates and venue of these meetings. CNN correspondents have applied for additional information to the White House Administration, but no answers have not been provided. These statements by Trump were heard against the backdrop of the calls of Presidential Advisor Vladimir Zelensky Dmitry Lytvyn to a more active and thorough approach by international partners to resolve the conflict. Lytvyn noted that it is important to find new ways to achieve peace and stability in the region. Ukraine has already suggested that meetings between US and Kiev representatives may take place during the Ukrainian Week event, which is scheduled for early February in Washington. The leader of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arahamia, noted that this could be a great opportunity to discuss the ways of resolving the conflict between the two countries. During this event, Ukrainian officials say important issues can be discussed, in particular, the role of the United States in supporting Ukraine and its efforts in the war against Russia.
Also recently, a representative of the US President for Ukraine and Russia, Kit Kellogo, called for elections in Ukraine by the end of this year, even despite the continuation of the war. He stressed that democratic countries often hold elections during armed conflicts, and this is necessary for the stability and normalization of the situation in Ukraine.
