Turkey does not give up EU membership

Turkish President Recep TaiP Erdogan emphasized his country of country to become a full member of the European Union. In his address to EU representatives, he called on Brussels to take a strategic and visionary position on the European integration of Ankara.

Negotiations on Turkey's accession to the EU have been ongoing since 2005, although the candidate's status has been received in 1999. However, despite many years of effort, the European community did not give Turkey the "green light" to attachment.

Erdogan emphasized that Turkey does not give up its European integration goal and expects to intensify the negotiation process.

"We keep our goal for full membership. We expect the EU to hold a strategic and visionary position and will revive our membership negotiations," the Turkish leader said.

In addition, he stressed that European security issues should be a priority for all countries, and to establish an effective partnership between Turkey and the EU, it is necessary to act with the long term.
