Ankara has announced rapprochement with Brix countries - a group that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. This decision was made due to the lack of progress in negotiations with the European Union on the possible accession of Turkey to the EU.
The Minister noted that Ankara has relations with Brix countries, which are also "through evolution" and it negotiate with them.
"If the EU had a desire to step forward, our point of view on certain questions could be different," Hakan Fidan said.
Turkey has not been able to make progress in negotiations with the EU since the start of negotiations in 2005, encountering a number of obstacles that include deficiencies in democracy in the country that the EU declares.
