Two elements of Crimean Tatar culture are recognized as intangible cultural heritage in Ukraine

Two important elements of Crimean Tatar culture, namely the "coffee tradition" and the traditional dance "Agyr ava ve Kaitarma", were recognized as intangible cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine. This was reported by the public organization "Alyem" on its Facebook page.

According to the report, the National Inventory reflecting the culture of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine was replenished with these two elements, which were proposed by the NGO "Alem" and received the approval of the Expert Council on Intangible Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy. These decisions were also confirmed by the so-called Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Rostyslav Karandeev.

This is in addition to the important events of the past year, when in December 2021 UNESCO added the Crimean Tatar ornament "Ornek" to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
