China sold a huge labub giant toy for a record amount

In Beijing, a giant labuba soft toy was sold at the auction 131 centimeters for a record amount - 1.08 million yuan, which is approximately $ 150,000 or over UAH 6 million. This sale has set a new world record for toys of this type.

Labuba is a fictional character with big eyes, a toothy smile and rabbit ears, created by Hong Kong artist Cassing the moon. The character has Scandinavian mythological inspiration and originally appeared in the series of illustrated books by The Monsters, but quickly turned into a separate cultural phenomenon.

Labubo's widespread popularity has grown thanks to Pop Mart, which produces Blind Box character figures - when the buyer does not know which model he will get. Usually a standard toy costs about 50 yuan (about $ 7), but due to rare limited series, the price of some specimens can grow rapidly.

A special demand for Labuba has emerged after the toy has started to appear regularly on social networks among Chinese celebrities. In the new collection called "Big Into Energy", Pop Mart presented six emotional plush pendants and one "secret" figure that symbolizes different feelings - love, happiness, hope and others.
