In the Dniprovsky district of Kiev recorded an outbreak of acute intestinal infection among the pupils of one of the preschool educational institutions. On May 19, four children found symptoms of the disease, and all of them were urgently hospitalized to the medical institutions of the capital.
Children are currently undergoing bacteriological examination to establish a specific pathogen of intestinal group of infections. The relevant services have launched an epidemiological investigation to find out the source of the outbreak and the causes of infection.
The Kyiv City Center for Control and Prevention of Diseases of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine emphasized the importance of timely detection and isolation of cases to prevent further spread of the disease among children. Work is underway to localize the outbreak and carry out preventive measures in kindergarten.
