Despite the massive attack of Russia on the night of May 25, Kyiv celebrates City Day. In 2025, the Ukrainian capital marks 1543. One of the noticeable events of the celebration was the festive outfit of the sculptures of Kyi, Shchek, Horeva and their sister Libidi on Post Square.
The sculptures of the legendary founders of Kiev, made in the form of figures of kids, were decorated with clothing in the style of the princely era. The author of the sculptural composition Vladimir Zhuravel said that the figures were also decorated with wreaths of oak, linden, viburnum and periwinkle. Subsequently, black ribbons were added to the outfit - honoring the memory of the dead as a result of the last attacks.
Despite the war and the daily threat of rocket and drone attacks, the people of Kiev do not stop supporting the city tradition of celebration - with respect for history and hope for a peaceful future.
