New York has become a place of conducting unexpected large-scale exercises, at which military Pentagon is being paid to respond to a possible nuclear incident. The training is organized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and conducted to increase the level of readiness of troops for situations related to nuclear threats, both in the US and abroad.
According to FBI, training does not pose a threat to the locals. However, the streets of New York may appear military in protective suits, as well as active aviation that will work in the sky. The main areas where maneuvers are held include the territory from the Albani Airport to the National Guard Air Force base in Stratton and the northern regions of Saratoga district. The purpose of the exercise is to work out and improve the response to possible nuclear incidents, in particular - the likely threats that may arise both in the US and beyond. The participants of the exercise will be equipped with personal protective equipment to simulate real conditions of emergency.
Maneuvers will be joined by Pentagon military officials, representatives of the National Nuclear Security, FBI and the US Department of Internal Security. These measures have been held regularly twice a year, since 2012, in different regions of the country.
As the training is "delicate", all details will be closed from the public and the media.
