French President Emmanuel Macron, after an international meeting in support of Ukraine in Paris, said that no option, including the possible participation of Europe's ground troops, should be excluded in order to achieve the goal of preventing Russia from winning this war.
"Nothing can be ruled out from the point of view of dynamics. We will do everything necessary to prevent Russia from winning this war. I say this with determination, but also with the understanding we have gained over the past two years. "Many people who today say 'never' also previously claimed that there would be 'never' tanks, planes or long-range missiles," Macron said, answering a question about the possibility of European ground troops participating in the war in Ukraine.
He emphasized that France does not abandon this position, but only considers it as one of the options that were mentioned during the meeting.
Macron noted that two years ago, many of his colleagues said that "we will offer sleeping bags and helmets", but now they believe that "we need to work faster and harder to get missiles and tanks".
He also noted that Europe is often 6-12 months behind schedule, but after this meeting everything should change. Ammunition is now a priority, and Europe is ready to implement its Lend-Lease option for Ukraine.
"We all commit to getting to the bottom of the stocks that are still available, to determine which ones can be mobilized, and to work on all the new solutions that are proposed," Macron said. He also noted that the problem of the shortage of necessary components, in particular gunpowder, is also recognized and must be solved.
France also supported the Czech proposal to purchase shells for Ukraine on foreign markets.
"We will look at it in more detail over the next ten days, but we are completely open to it. The only goal is to be effective in helping Ukrainians," Macron emphasized.
Thus, Europe promises to help Ukraine take the initiative and act together at a time when there is uncertainty on the part of the US regarding aid. The result of the strategic meeting of the leaders of the countries in Paris was the creation of a coalition for launching long-range missile strikes.
