In Sumy region, the Russian Dron Kamikadze "Lancet" hit the evacuation bus, resulting in killed nine civilians. Among the victims are civilians who tried to leave the dangerous war zone. The tragedy happened near the city of Bilopillya.
Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar informed about the attack. In connection with the tragedy, the Sumy community announced the day of mourning May 17. Entertainment measures were also abolished in the city, and government agencies have given flags.
The head of the Belopil community Yuri Zarko called this event "Black Saturday" for the region. He stated that the Russian military committed another military crime against the civilian population.
"Even the Nazis did not do such ... There can be no forgiveness to the racists for their atrocities," Zarko wrote.
The mourning was announced in Bilopilli from May 17 to May 19.
Rescuers, law enforcement officers and representatives of the regional authorities work at the scene. Data on the victims are clarified. Investigators opened criminal proceedings on violation of the laws and customs of war.
The Ukrainian authorities urge the world community not to leave these crimes unanswered, and international organizations - to contribute to the prosecution of the perpetrators.
