In September 2024, Hungary and Slovakia restored the transportation of Russian oil through the territory of Ukraine, using the Druzhba Pipeline. This was made possible by a direct agreement between the Hungarian Russian company MOL and the Russian oil company Lukoil, which allowed to provide supply of oil products to the processing plants of Hungary and Slovakia.

It is more than a third of all the volumes of Russian oil, delivered in Hungary and Slovakia "Friendship" last month - 850 thousand tons. About 48% provided Tatneft.

It is expected that in October, shipments will be larger.

Earlier, Shmigal stated that Ukraine was not against such a transit of Russian oil, because according to the documents it will no longer be Russian oil, but Hungarian.
