Ukraine will remain in the spotlight during the seven (G7) meetings in 2025, as the Canadian Foreign Minister Melani Zolie stated. In her account on the social network X, she stressed that Ukraine's support is a key direction of Presidction of Canada in G7.

This statement was made after her first official call as chairman G7 to Ukrainian colleague Andrei Sibiga, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. According to her, the current situation, the needs of Ukraine, as well as further steps to strengthen the Ukrainian-Canadian partnership were discussed during the conversation.

"Ukraine remains a priority for G7. We have discussed the current situation and further needs. Canada will always remain a strong ally of Ukraine," Zoli said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga also confirmed the constructive nature of the conversation. He noted progress in relations between Ukraine and Canada in 2024, as well as coordinated cooperation before major international events.

"I appreciate the confirmation that Ukraine will be a priority for the presidency of Canada in the Seven group during 2025," Sibiga emphasized.

Canada, as one of the key states of G7, has repeatedly demonstrated its dedication to Ukraine's support, providing both financial and defense assistance. The presidency in G7 in 2025 can be an important stage for the international community to assist Ukraine in the struggle for its sovereignty.
