Ukraine received $41 billion in aid from partners in 2024

Ukraine approaches the end of 2024 with clear features of financial stability. This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmigal at a government meeting on December 24.

"At the expense of taxes, fees, internal loans in full, we finance our defense forces. Thanks to partners we cover civilian expenditures," the Prime Minister emphasized.

According to Shmigal, this year Ukraine received about $ 41 billion in direct budget support from international partners. In particular:

  • 16 billion euros - under the Ukraine Facility , EU,
  • $ 5.4 billion in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The Prime Minister also noted the importance of financial assistance from the US, World Bank, Japan, Canada and other countries. "I am grateful to all Ukraine's friends for solidarity. This allows all our obligations to fulfill," he stressed.

In the 11 months of 2024, significant amounts from the state budget were aimed at key social and economic needs:

  • 510 billion UAH - for social security,
  • 140 billion UAH - for the program of state medical guarantees,
  • UAH 163 billion - for transfers to local budgets.

Denis Shmigal outlined the government's financial strategy for next year. Ukraine plans to attract more than $ 38 billion external funding to cover non -military expenditures. In addition, the state expects funds from frozen Russian assets.

"We clearly understand where we will take the money next year," the Prime Minister summed up.
