8,000 North Korean soldiers have already arrived in the Kursk region - Blinken

On Thursday, US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, said that about 8,000 North Korean soldiers have already arrived in the Kursk region. This number soon increased to 10 thousand, and, according to, they can start fighting in the coming days. This information was confirmed by a US State Department representative Miller, who added that if the DPRK is really involved in the war, they will become legitimate goals for Ukraine's defenders.

Information on the number of military DPRK in the Kursk region, however, varies somewhat depending on the source. In particular, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that according to Ukrainian intelligence, there are now about 11 thousand North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. He also expressed anxiety as a poor reaction of the international community to the DPRK in hostilities on the side of Russia. This support of Moscow on the part of Pyongyang creates additional challenges for Ukraine, forcing strategic approaches and the need to support partners.

International reaction to the DPRK's help

Against the background of increased tension, Ukrainian partners, as Zelensky notes, show indecision in combating Pyongyang's cooperation with Moscow. The participation of the DPRK in the war creates a potentially new front, which forces Ukraine to adapt to changes in Russian tactics. It also calls on the effectiveness of sanctions and isolation of the DPRK on the world stage.

The presence of the North Korean military in Russia can have far -reaching consequences for security in the region and globally, as well as to become another test for the solidarity of countries that support Ukraine in its struggle.
