At the World Winter Universiade in Turin, Italy, Ukrainian biathletes continue to delight fans with high results. Oleksandra Merkushina and Serhii Suprun won the gold in the single mixed relay.
A pair of Ukrainian athletes ran the race with high precision and strategy. Although they had to use eight extra rounds in the shooting, they managed to avoid penalty rounds.
In the second half of the distance, 20-year-old Oleksandra Merkushina took the lead, and the Ukrainian team held it until the very finish.

This is not the first medal for the Ukrainian biathlon team at the 2025 Universiade. On the first day of the competition, Bohdan Borkovskiy won gold in the short individual race among men, and Darina Chalyk won bronze among women.
