Ukraine will receive $ 432 million to restore transport infrastructure within the Drive project. These funds will be directed to repair roads and bridges in 19 regions.
The project is planned to overhaul the transport routes, the installation of modular crossings and other infrastructure updates. Financing will be distributed in three directions:
-
$ 270.48 million - for repair and maintenance of roads and bridges, support for the construction and supervision of construction.
-
$ 90 million - for the reform of roads and transport industry.
-
$ 39 million - to install emergency modular bridges and store key units of the road network.
-
$ 10 million - for technical assistance and management of projects.
The Project will be implemented by the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The completion of the works is scheduled by 2028.
The decision to start the project was approved at the end of March by the World Bank Directors. In the second April, the Viceremier-Minister for Recovery, the Minister of Community and Territories of Ukraine Alexei Kuleb and the Regional Director of the World Bank for Eastern Europe, Bob Som, signed a financing agreement.
Part of the financing includes $ 212 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development with the Support of the Japan Government, as well as $ 10 million from the trust, restoration, reform and reform of Ukraine.
The Drive project will be a supplement to the previous Relinc initiative, which provided for the installation of modular bridges and the manufacture of 200 platforms. Infrastructure restoration will help improve logistics, increase traffic safety and stimulate Ukraine's economic development.
