This year, several airports can work in Ukraine, despite the difficult security situation through the war. This was stated by the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy in an interview with the publication "Your City" .
According to Sadovy, there are both technical and organizational prerequisites to restore airports. The main thing is to make an appropriate political decision, which, according to him, can be made this year.
"The presence of Ukraine on the aviation map is extremely important for international security and links with the outside world," the mayor of Lviv stressed.
Sadovyi parallel to the experience of Israel, which, despite the difficult military situation, kept the operation of Tel Aviv Airport as a strategically important point.
"During the war, the airport remained the only connection of the country with the world. All planes were equipped with special equipment to protect against possible attacks. This experience is important for Ukraine - we must learn to live and develop even in difficult conditions," he added.
Danylo Halytskyi Lviv Airport is actively studying the possibilities of restoring civil aviation flights, even under martial law.
