The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov has negotiated with the Head of the Ministry of Defense of Italy Guido Crossetto in Rome, where he discussed the lack of Aster-30 missiles for SAMP-T missiles used by Ukraine to strengthen air defense.
According to the Italian edition of Corriere Della Sera , two Aster-30 batteries, transferred to Ukraine, have almost exhausted their stocks, and without new deliveries they will become unusable. Ukraine has appealed to Italy and France to provide supply of at least 50 new missiles to support the combat capacity of its anti -aircraft systems.
However, as noted in the publication, the Italian reserves of the Aster-30 missiles at a critical level, which jeopardizes the possibility of satisfying Ukraine's requests. Italy's power is in a difficult situation, trying to balance the national defense and support of Ukraine in its struggle.
Negotiations in Rome have become an important step towards providing Ukraine with the necessary air defense means, especially in the face of constant attacks by Russia. The Ukrainian side expressed the hope that international partners will continue support in providing military equipment to protect the country.
