Ukraine and the United Kingdom have taken a historic step by signing a 100-year strategic partnership agreement. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the UK Prime Minister Kir Starmer has officially established agreements that will become the basis for long-term relations between the two countries.
Under the terms of the agreement, the United Kingdom will provide Ukraine with annual military assistance of at least $ 3.6 billion as much as it will be needed. The document provides:
- Expanding the training of Ukrainian specialists for combat aviation.
- Supply of aircraft in service with NATO countries.
- Investments in defense production, including drones and artillery.
- Development of cooperation in the field of long -range weapons.
The agreement includes increased interaction within the combined expeditionary forces (JEF). Particular attention is paid to marine security, the creation of common flotillas to ensure stability in the Baltic, Black and Azov seas.
The document is also aimed at deepening economic partnership:
- Involving investments and replacement of Russian technologies.
- Joint development of nuclear energy.
A separate area of the agreement was the expansion of cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science and technologies. In particular:
- Exchange of experience in artificial intelligence and drones.
- Starting joint programs for universities.
- Supporting at least 100 schools in Ukraine.
After the war, the countries will work to eliminate barriers for mutual trips of citizens, which will be another step towards strengthening the relationship.
