Drones that attack Russian refineries are equipped with artificial intelligence

Some long-range Ukrainian drones attacking oil refineries in the Russian Federation are already equipped with artificial intelligence, and Kyiv chooses the targets in advance together with its allies, CNN reports citing sources.

A type of AI called “machine vision” is used, which allows drones to better navigate and avoid obstacles.

"Accuracy during obstacles is ensured due to the use of artificial intelligence. Each aircraft has a terminal computer with satellite and terrain data. The flights are determined in advance with our allies, and the planes follow the flight plan so that we can hit the targets with an accuracy of a few meters," the source said.

"Machine vision" makes it possible to teach the drone to independently determine the geography and the goal to which it is moving. This makes the drone completely autonomous - it does not need any communication with satellites.
