Ukraine and Poland are expanding military-industrial cooperation. Both countries have signed a memorandum that involves the joint production of ammunition, the maintenance of armored vehicles and artillery, as well as the strengthening of air defense (air defense).
The memorandum was signed with the participation of the Minister on Strategic Industry of Ukraine Herman Smetanin and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Poland Tomchik.
Collaboration will include:
- Ammunition production - providing Ukraine with critical shells.
- Armored vehicles and artillery service are joint technical support for military equipment.
- Development of air defense - expanding the possibilities of protection of airspace.
In addition, the document provides for the creation of financial mechanisms for raising funds from the European Defense Strategy and the European Defense Program .
Representatives of defense companies of Ukraine and Poland were also present at the meeting. The parties discussed:
- localization of production of Polish defense products in Ukraine;
- creation of joint ventures;
- Production of explosives.
Since the beginning of a full -scale war, Poland has become one of Ukraine's key partners, providing military, humanitarian and political support . Warsaw handed over a considerable amount of weapons to Kiev, including tanks, artillery, armored vehicles and ammunition , and helped in military training.
In addition, Poland actively supports the sanction pressure on Russia, promotes Ukraine's European integration and lobbies its interests in the international arena.
In January, Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kikish announced a new package of military assistance for Ukraine, which emphasizes further support of Ukrainian defense capability.
