Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets met with the Russian Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova, during which the parties exchanged lists of prisoners of war with the participation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICCH).
Lubinets reported that this exchange is part of the effort to return Ukrainian citizens home and obtain information about their situation in Russia. The Ombudsman also emphasized the importance of ensuring access to ICCCs to Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians in the Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by ICCH representatives, as well as heads of missions of the organization in Ukraine and Russia. Lubinets spoke about the introduction of a new format of interaction: the parties exchanged letters, transferring Ukrainian letters from relatives to Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russia.
