Ukraine has taken decisive measures to prevent the spread of dangerous Foamur virus into its territory. This was a response to the outbreak of animals in Hungary in Hungary, which was reported by the World Animal Protection Organization and the European Union.
The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (State Consumer Service) has prohibited the importation of all cargo -related cargoes from Hungary. The ban falls:
- Living animals, susceptible to the forestry (cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, etc.).
- Genetic material from such animals.
- Raw materials and products of animal origin that can tolerate the car virus.
According to representatives of the department, such measures are binding on ensuring epizootic security and protecting animals in Ukraine. The Foammian virus is able to spread extremely quickly and lead to significant economic losses in the agricultural sector.
The source of infection is:
- Patients with animals.
- Animals in incubation period.
The virus can be transmitted directly through contact between infected and healthy animals, as well as through animal products, raw materials and even vehicles used to transport infected animals or products.
The State Consumer Service and its territorial bodies continue to monitor the epizootic situation. Department specialists are actively monitoring the situation not only in Ukraine but also beyond to respond promptly to any threats.
Representatives of the service emphasize that such measures are necessary for maintaining a safe environment for animal husbandry and ensuring a stable supply of quality products to the Ukrainian market.
The introduction of a ban on the import of goods from Hungary can be influenced by a number of livestock -related industries, including the production of meat, milk and other animal products. The Government of Ukraine is expected to continue working on establishing safe supply channels and taking additional measures to control the situation.
