In 2024, citizens of Ukraine set a new record for investment in the bonds of domestic government loans (T -bills), investing UAH 639.5 billion. This was reported by the Ministry of Finance on January 3.
This figure exceeded the results of 2023 by over UAH 73 billion, which indicates an increase in the trust of Ukrainians in state financial instruments. As of December 30, 2024, the total amount of government bonds owned by citizens reached UAH 1.84 trillion.
The Ministry of Finance noted that the funds received from the sale of bonds are directed to ensure the Defense Forces of Ukraine. They are used for the purchase of weapons, ammunition, drones, as well as clothing, food and medicines for the military.
In October 2024, the Ministry of Finance also achieved a record raising from the issue of government bonds - UAH 106.9 billion in equivalent. Of this amount, UAH 82.8 billion amounted to military bonds, which confirms the priority use of funds for defense needs.
The profitability of the hryvnia government bonds in 2024 was 15.6%, and the dollar - 4.62%. These conditions make this tool attractive to support the country and to generate stable income.
