Citizens of Ukraine can store declared Kalashnikov machines without processing until the end of martial law, but with clear restrictions on their use. After the war, weapons will need to be reworked.
The Director of the Department of Interaction with the National Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Secretary of the National Coordination Center for combating illegal circulation of firearms Mykola Grintsov explained the conditions in the commentary for Ukrinform.
"Until the end of martial law, citizens are allowed to store declared Kalashnikov machines without processing. But they can not be used solely to repel the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. It is impossible to walk in the city with weapons," Grintsov stressed.
After the martial law, the owners of the machine guns will have to process the weapon. It is unknown what the requirements will be put forward for this procedure, but it is about turning machines into weapons that are not subject to combat use.
