Ukrainian deposits under threat

Former US President Donald Trump's administration actively sought to conclude an agreement with Ukraine that would allow US corporations to obtain the right to produce rare and rare metals in Ukrainian deposits. However, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has abandoned this agreement that, according to experts, is a completely correct solution.

According to the estimates of economists, the agreement proposed by the United States could lead to the development of old neolonial practices that would harm Ukraine's authority. One of the main interested resources for the United States is Uranus because the country is actively developing its nuclear energy and Uranium reserves in the US are limited. The US is also very interested in Titan, which is critical of the space and aviation industry, as well as in graphite, manganese and other strategically important metals. Ukraine has huge reserves of rare earth metals, such as neodymium, Lantan, Cerium, iro and Scandius, which are used in various industries, from aerospace to electric vehicles. In addition, the country has large deposits of manganese ores, which is an important element for the production of ferroalloys.

Given the importance of these resources for the American industry, interest in the Ukrainian subsoil is clear. However, an agreement that would allow the United States to control the production of these resources could lead to a decrease in national sovereignty and long -term negative consequences for Ukraine.

According to economist Alexei Kushch, the rejection of the US agreement was a wise step that would keep Ukraine control over its natural resources and avoid unpleasant political and economic consequences.
