Ukrainian troops can retreat from Kurshchyna before spring

American officials say that Ukrainian forces that have previously succeeded during the offensive in the Kursk region of Russia may be forced to retreat from part of the captured territories by spring. This forecast is related to the strengthening of the counterattack of the Russian troops and the challenges faced by the Ukrainian army.

According to the United States, Ukrainians are currently opposed to significant forces, including about 12,000 military people from North Korea, who support the Russian army. These new circumstances create additional pressure on Ukrainian units in the region.

Other problems faced by Ukraine are the lack of personnel and uncertainty with future weapons from the Allies. Despite its initial success, these factors limit opportunities for further retention of the occupied territories.

American experts say that the Ukrainian offensive in the Kursk region had several strategic goals, including the task of losses of the enemy, demonstration of vulnerability of the Russian border and strengthening of positions for future diplomatic talks. In case of retreat, this step can be presented as a tactical maneuver aimed at avoiding the environment and preserving resources.
