Uzbekistan condemned a man who fought for Russia in Ukraine

The court in Uzbekistan sentenced a 28-year-old man for participation in the war against Ukraine within the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. According to the local version of Radio Liberty (Radio Azatik), the man signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry, being in a difficult financial situation after the unsuccessful business in Moscow.

In court, the man explained that he had arrived in Russia at the invitation of Armenian managers to participate in the fighting tournament. However, the battle was canceled, and the organizers took away his passport, demanding a return.

With no other possibilities, the man decided to sign a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry, seeing advertising with promises of fast earnings. Initially, he was sent to the technical service, but after his studies in the Rostov region and in the occupied Lugansk, he found himself at the front.

In August, during the attack of the Ukrainian drone on a military car, the man was injured and lost his eye. After treatment, he appealed to the Uzbekistan Embassy in Moscow to return home, but received a refusal. He was able to leave Russia only by purchasing a fake migration card for 50 thousand rubles.

The court found him guilty of mercenary article and sentenced him to a four -year period, one month and 20 days.
