In England, a book taken in the last century is returned to the library

The resident of England recently decided to return the book, which she lent 45 years ago. The woman discovered Randel Helmes, Tolkien's World ("The World of Tolkina") during cleaning and decided to take it on the library shelf.

"It can be our overdue book, which we return to the library," the library said on its Facebook page.

The woman said she often visited the library while working at the nearby Woolworth Store in the 1970s. Although she returned all the books after the store closed, this disappeared and stored in her home for decades.

The library expressed understanding and allowed the reader not to pay a significant fine for delay. "Of course, we do not fine readers for overdue books, even if decades have passed," the library's representatives emphasized. They also assured that those who may have lost a book in 1976 have nothing to be afraid and can safely visit the library.
