The opening of a permanent representation of the European Parliament is planned in Kyiv

The European Parliament has decided to establish a representative office in Ukraine, which was announced during the signing of the Memorandum between the European Parliament and the Verkhovna Rada of the European Union in Brussels. This was reported by the President of the European Parliament Robert Metzol during the visit of the Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk to Brussels.

"We have signed the updated Memorandum of Parliamentary Democracy between our two parliaments. It is also a practical way that we, as the European Parliament, can help Ukraine in accession to the EU. This partnership will be strengthened by our decision to open the permanent representation of the European Parliament in Kiev," Motzola said.

In turn, Stefanchuk noted that thanks to the memorandum, the Verkhovna Rada will increasingly meet the EU standards in its functionality.

"The main thing we have fixed today is our growth to a single point. We integrate into each other in functionality, institutionality and general values. I believe that this is a very important decision," the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada said.
