On the small island of Wangrog in Germany, the authorities faced a shortage of frames. Because of this, the local administration decided to resort to an unusual way to find the mayor - to make a vacancy advertisement to the newspaper.
Such a strategy has already produced results: earlier, similar to the beacon caretaker. Then more than 1000 people claimed the post. Wangrog is a cozy island in the North Sea, popular with tourists. However, despite its attractiveness, it has a serious problem - a lack of qualified specialists. It is difficult to find footage with the right education and experience even on the mainland, not to mention the remote island.
"Finding new employees with special qualifications in administrative issues for the island, when it is impossible even on the mainland, is practically impossible," - said in a joint statement of the CDU parties, SDPN and "green" who are part of the island. The vacancy announcement has already been published in local newspapers, and will soon appear in other editions. The mayor elections will be held on August 17, and you can apply by June 14. Only one person responded to the time of publication. Among the responsibilities of the mayor - administration management, representative tasks, control of finances, support of public order and work with personnel resources. The candidate should have a university diploma and appropriate professional experience.
Whether success is repeated with the search for a lighthouse caregiver, it will take time. However, the island's authorities hope that this method will help attract more candidates.
