The US State Department has clearly stated that it has no information about any conversations with Ukraine regarding peace negotiations with Russia and stressed that all the initiative and decisions in this matter belong to Ukraine. This was reported by a representative of the State Department, Vedant Pavel, at a briefing.
Pavel stressed that "any negotiations are a matter of Ukraine" and emphasized the principle "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine." He also stressed that the State Department does not have information about conversations that could take place between Ukraine and other parties regarding peace talks that are not included in the existing formula of peace.
At the same time, the State Department emphasized that they remain committed to support for their Ukrainian partners. This statement clearly emphasizes the US position on Ukraine's support and calls for respect for sovereignty and decisions of Ukraine in peace and security.
Earlier in the media there was information about possible negotiations between representatives of the United States, the European Union and Ukraine on peaceful settlement of the conflict with Russia. This information was of great interest, but the US State Department has made it clear that they are not participants in such conversations and that their commitment to Ukraine's support remains unchanged.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also claims that none of the leaders of the European Union, the US or other partners has put pressure on this issue, thereby confirming Ukraine's independence in resolving its fate and peaceful resolution of conflict with Russia.
