On November 17, the city of Sumy was again struck by Russian aggression. The hostile ballistic rocket hit a nine -storey residential building, which caused numerous victims and destruction.
The Sumy City Council reported that 10 people were killed as a result of the attack, including a 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl. 55 adults and 8 children were injured. All the necessary services work in place, and the victims are provided with medical and psychological assistance.
During the elimination of the consequences of the tragedy, more than 400 residents of damaged buildings were evacuated. SES psychologists support the victims, and the unfolded point of indomitability helps people who have lost their homes.
In addition to losses among people, six multi -storey buildings were damaged, four cars were destroyed.
On the night of November 18, at 00:10, the enemy struck another Sumy, destroying some of the critical infrastructure. The city is left without power supply. There are emergency services on site that estimate losses and restore electricity.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed deep condolences to the families of the dead and noted that "the offender should be punished for murder of innocent people."
V.O. Mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar announced on November 18 and 19 the days of mourning in the city. He stressed that this tragedy is another testimony to the cruelty of the enemy.
City residents are united to support the victims, and local services continue to work in enhanced mode.
