In Hungary, the first Ukrainian school was opened in Budapest

Hungary took an important step in supporting the Ukrainian community, opening its first Ukrainian school in Budapest. This news was reported by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration Nikita. From now on, Ukrainian children in Hungary will have the opportunity to learn their mother tongue in a new educational institution.

The school will provide education from grade 1 to 12 with teaching in Ukrainian, as well as a parallel study of Hungarian as a foreign language. This decision is a significant step to support Ukrainian citizens living in Hungary and will promote the integration of the Ukrainian community into Hungarian society.

The school is funded at the expense of the Hungarian budget, which emphasizes the obligation of the Hungarian government to support the cultural and educational needs of the Ukrainian diaspora. The opening of this school is the result of the arrangements reached at a meeting between the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, held in Kiev.

As part of this meeting, both parties confirmed their readiness to cooperate in the field of education and cultural exchange, which is reflected in the implementation of this project. The opening of the Ukrainian school is part of the efforts of both countries aimed at supporting and preserving the cultural identity of Ukrainians living outside their homeland.
