On December 8, 2023, a round table was held on “Discussion of Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Persons with Game Dependence”, initiated by the Public Society “Center for Responsible Game” (RGC).
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Health, the Institute of Forensic Psychiatry of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the National Health Service, the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Committee of Regulation of Gambling and Lottery, Local Authorities, as well as representatives of clinics and centers specialized in work with persons with play.
The main patron of the event was FAVBET, which has been supporting a project from a national research of game dependence to implementing recommendations for more than a year.
During the discussion of Xenia Turikov with Favbet, she stressed that patronage over the new project is part of the company's systematic efforts to create a socially responsible business in the gambling segment. RGC leader Olga Isaeva discussed the practical aspect of the implementation of the State Standard on Socio-Psychological Rehabilitation of Persons with Game Dependence, emphasizing the need for cooperation between state institutions, gambling organizers and services.
A gambling regulator representative Christina Dutka reported that the Gambling Regulatory Committee and Lottery welcome the implementation of the State Standard, as it will allow the players to provide relevant services and minimize game dependence.
Other participants also expressed support for social standard development and recommendations for its effective functioning. It is noted that it is important to differentiate the competencies of medical and social services for a clear understanding, where social and where is a medical service.
In addition, views on the need to be aware of the players that the game is not earnings was expressed. The state standard project for providing social and psychological rehabilitation services with game addiction will be published on the RGC page on Facebook, and each interested person will be able to join the development of this socially important document.
