Great Britain will send 20,000 military personnel to NATO training in Europe

Some of the largest NATO exercises in Europe are approaching, and the United Kingdom is preparing to send a large military delegation to participate in them. During the first half of this year, the country will send warships, fighters and about 20,000 servicemen to Europe.

As part of the NATO's Staadfast Defender 24 exercises, which will last from February to June in Eastern Europe, the United Kingdom will accommodate 16,000 of its military. The delegation includes aircraft carrier band, F-35B Lightning Storm Staromes and POSEIDON P8 reconnaissance aircraft. These exercises are devoted to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Alliance.

Defense Minister of UK, Grant Chapsa, noted that it is one of the greatest exercises of NATO since the Cold War. He emphasized the importance of combining the efforts of 30 Alliance and Sweden countries to provide effective protection against a threat posed by Putin's Russian regime.

Following the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin on a full -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, NATO increased the number of capable troops. In the context of this decision, the signing of the Security Cooperation Agreement between the United Kingdom and Ukraine is an important step in strengthening the defense cooperation of both countries.
