Interior Minister James Kleverli presented a five -piece plan to reduce immigration, which is considered "too high". The UK government is taking measures to achieve the greatest in the history of reducing pure migration after a record increase in its level.
The main provisions of the plan include:
- Prohibition for health care workers and care to bring maintenance family members.
- Termination to companies to pay employees 20% less than the current rate for work in scarce professions.
- An increase in the annual contribution that foreign workers pay for the use of the National Health Service.
- Increasing minimum income for family visas.
- View Visa Order to Prevent Abuse.
These measures are aimed at reducing pure migration, which in 2022 reached a record 745,000 people. This was the key issue before the expected general elections in 2024. The Minister of Internal Affairs stated that the changes would come into force in the spring of next year and expected that they will reduce about 300,000 people annually.
