In Paris there is a big step in the revival of the historical cathedral of Our Lady of Paris - the restoration of the spire, which was destroyed by a terrible fire.
According to BFMTV, a new spire is made of oak wood and has already been raised. Despite this, construction scaffolding is still in place.
The restorers used the original project of the French architect Eugene Violele-Le-Duke to reproduce spiers. Local residents already note the expressive contours of the 96-meter structure, which can be considered in detail.
Although the official opening of Notre Dam is scheduled for December 8, 2024, after the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, the scaffolding will remain in place until this time. The spire will be covered with lead and exquisitely decorated, giving it its original appearance.
This stage of recovery is marked as a symbolic victory over destruction and recognition of the importance of cultural heritage.
