The tax raising law in Ukraine, signed with late, will lead to significant losses for the state budget. According to Danylo Getmantsev, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Financial Committee, in 2024 the state will receive only UAH 8 billion instead of the planned 21 billion.
The decision to increase taxes for individuals-entrepreneurs (FOPs) was postponed to January 1, 2025, which significantly affected the budget. Thus, Ukraine will not receive about UAH 13 billion next year.
Danilo Getmantsev stated that the Ministry of Finance has reserves to compensate for this amount. However, what reserves are planned to be used until it is specified.
Experts emphasize that delaying tax changes can complicate the fulfillment of budgetary obligations, especially in the conditions of war, when the country depends on the stable financing of defense and social programs.
The signing of the law later than expected, also creates risks to the planned economic reforms that provided for a gradual increase in tax revenues to reduce the budget deficit.
