The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov made an official visit to the Netherlands, where he met with his Dutch colleague Ruben Breccelmans in Hague. The main theme of negotiations was further military assistance to Ukraine, including the transfer of F-16 fighters, strengthening of drone capabilities and the production of artillery ammunition.
According to the Minister, the Netherlands remains among the leaders of military support of Ukraine, and the amount of assistance increased significantly in 2024. An agreements have already been reached for further cooperation in 2025.
1. F-16 fighters
one of the key areas is the transfer of new F-16 parties and the preparation of Ukrainian pilots, engineers and technical staff. The Netherlands play a central role in the Air Force Coalition, which contributes to the modernization of Ukraine's aviation infrastructure.
2. Drones and long -range opportunities
within the framework of the visit were consistent with the distribution of € 400 million to strengthen unmanned capabilities, as well as the preparation of large -scale joint projections in the field of long -range weapons.
3. The artillery, air defense and recyclars
have discussed the supply of artillery ammunition and air defense, which are critical for Ukraine. The Netherlands, as Umerov noted, is well understood by these needs and ready to promote them.
4. Joint defense production
is the next step in bilateral cooperation - the creation of joint defense enterprises that will strengthen the production capabilities of both countries and guarantee a stable supply of the necessary weapons.
Ministers also synchronized plans for further supply of assistance, its effective use on the battlefield and support of the Armed Forces.
