On Wednesday, October 25, an accident occurred on Velyka Vasylkivska street in Holosiivsky district of Kyiv, in which a Volkswagen car demolished a public transport stop. Reports of this incident appeared on social networks and were confirmed by local residents.
According to preliminary information, the accident resulted in injuries to the driver and passenger of the car. Eyewitnesses claim that the passenger of the car was intoxicated and broke the windshield of the car to take his backpack from the cabin.
The incident happened around 7 o'clock in the morning. The driver of the car was detained and reported on suspicion of violation of traffic rules, which led to moderate injuries to pedestrians at the stop.
No signs of intoxication were detected during the test of the driver using a breathalyzer. Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being considered.
